WHAT MAKES THESE MOZZARELLA STICKS DIFFERENT
A Cheesesteak Twist
All the flavors of a classic Philly cheesesteak — seasoned steak, sautéed peppers and onions, and gooey melted cheese — transformed into a crispy, handheld bite. It’s familiar, nostalgic, and over-the-top in the best way.
Extra Crispy Coating
The double dip in egg and seasoned panko creates a thick, crunchy crust that seals everything in. That contrast between the crispy exterior and molten, cheesy center is what makes these unforgettable.
Perfect Party Appetizer
Freezing the filling keeps the sticks structured and easy to fry without falling apart. They’re bold, filling, and guaranteed to disappear fast at game day, parties, or late-night cravings.
STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR PHILLY CHEESESTEAK MOZZARELLA STICKS
Sauté the Peppers & Onions
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced bell pepper and onion. Cook until softened and lightly golden, stirring occasionally.
Season & Cook the Steak
Add steak to the pan. Season with Worcestershire, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, season salt, and optional MSG. Cook until fully browned and flavorful.
Melt the Cheese
Reduce heat slightly and stir in shredded cheese. Mix until completely melted and evenly combined with the steak and vegetables.
Freeze Until Firm
Transfer mixture to a parchment-lined tray and press into an even layer about ½ inch thick. Freeze until completely solid so it’s easy to slice.
Cut & Bread
Cut into 9 rectangles. Dip each into beaten egg, coat in seasoned panko, dip back into egg, then coat again in panko for extra crunch.
Fry to Golden Perfection
Fry in hot oil until deeply golden and crisp. Remove and drain.
Prepare the Dipping Sauce
Whisk mayo, ketchup, dill relish, stone ground mustard, hot sauce, BBQ sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Serve alongside mozzarella sticks.
